Hey,
I'm looking for links to some nice DC based design studios/firms/agencies/etc websites, can anyone help me out? In exchange for your generous help, I am willing to provide support &or encouragement in your hour of need. Many thanks.

you can check "the agency list"...
http://www.qbn.com/topics/551660…also the "design studios" list...
http://www.qbn.com/topics/581904…that's QBN's biggest listings. you can also try "filter"
- filer = searchakrokdesign

The filter on QBN is pretty poor. I'd try google using:

I"m in DC, and work here - http://www.teamgroup.tv/.
I used to work at HZDG - great place, but it's now far outside the city in Gaithersburg.
AKQA - lots of good people there.
If you're a Flash developer, a friend at a small studio is looking-

A couple friends of mine -might be people worth contacting based on looking at your work-

Design Army. Good people, if a bit quirky. Their work is solid.
The downside I noticed back when I lived in Baltimore is that the cost of living to average design salary ratio sucks. It's like St. Louis salaries with nearly New York living costs.
Then again, you could always go work for the CIA and do drone work for $96,578.23 per year and get a penthouse in Adams Morgan.

I've began to consider a possible move and fresh start, and because of family, DC is one of the first options. We've visited and have some family there. But, never paid too much attention or researched studios or agencies. Does anyone know the salary/cost of living ration there?
- Depends on which side of the river and how far out. Don't overlook the new Silver Line...hellobotto
- ...while it's not as spiff as living in NW, costs start going down as soon as you hit Sterling on the VA side.hellobotto
