What is the best online storage service? Is Dropbox the best option?

Depends on what its for, if its just work backups yeah.
If its personal stuff not so much. Dropbox has new terms and conditions that basically allow them to go snooping around your files and essentially your computer.
There are alternatives:
http://www.box.com/
http://drive.google.com/
and others, but again...can you trust Google etc, its all down to how sensitive what you're putting on there is.I use Dropbox for work stuff and its great. But I removed any personal photos etc from it. Also its good if the work files are really important to use two different cloud services so you have two backups online.
If you don't want to store files online and just want to use it to transfer files, then look into this instead http://www.bittorrent.com/sync

I am using Carbonite for online backup. $50/year, or so, got several TB backedup, at least.

9.99$/month = 1 terabytes with Google Drive.
That sold me to it. Dropbox is more expensive for way less than 1tb

Looking for a reliable good - cloud storage system with version control like Apple time Machine/Eclipse etc. Its mainly for business so quality and efficiency not price is important. Any recommendations?
