Looking for recommendations on "superlight weight" rain jacket, that's "100%" waterproof and breathable.
Looking for rain pants too.
Loving what i'm seeing with the marmot mica jacket so far.

you can't go wrong with outdoor research. especially if you want breathable and 100% waterproof.
http://www.outdoorresearch.com/arcteryx has been blowing up in the last couple of years too

(yeah, i second sublocked's opinion. that's the next jacket i want, but $$$$)maybe mountain hardware too:

I like Columbia's style and even though the quality isn't as high as the brands above, they are cheap. I don't think you can go wrong with this.

I've got my eye on the Helium II ($150). Heard good things about it.

Funny, after some research I just bought myself yesterday a hardshell as well.
Wanted the North Face Ventura, but the color, black, was sold out.So ended up buying the cheapest North Face, The North Face Resolve, in the market as the financial situation is not the best right now.
The price was €99 and I got it for €35.I need it for Summer and Spring and jogging.
Fits okay for my needs. But those Mountain Hardwear are great and Haglofs too.
- I have one of those cheap black north faces I always keep in a bag in my truck. Packable + works great in emergencies & looks nice too.sublocked

Will these work for biking? I don't want to get sweaty in it.
- benfal990
that's the problem with those coat. i've got one that is supposed to "breathe" but when i bike with it, all the sweat stays inside and it become VERY wet.
- < this is what I meant by not being waterproof and breathable.HijoDMaite

for biking, you want a thin windshell (no membrane) for 90% of the time. Those will actually breathe. They'll have a water repellent coating to bead water up on the surface. generally good for 20-30mins in moderate rain. Here are two nice examples:
http://www.patagonia.com/ca/prod…
http://www.raceface.com/apparel/…After that, you want a cheap, compact rain barrier. could be a .99c plastic poncho, could be a $100 rain jacket, but even the $500 ones don't really breathe when active. You won't wear it much, so don't spend a lot here. (I live in vancouver and hardly ever wear a fully waterproof jacket for my 20min commute) The Marmot Mica looks like a good choice. The Precip would work too.
Same idea goes for pants. And fenders are an must

It rains hard sometimes so I would need something 100% waterproof. I got these water ressistent jackets that makes my shirts inside wet. Longbacks i'd like to stay away from because I also want to wear them when i'm out and about. I don't want something hanging down my ass.

Some water resistant jackets are almost as non-breathing as a proper rain shell. Look for one without any rubbery coating on the inside of the fabric. A brushed lining can make a big difference, ie:my fav jacket in the whole world, I wear it everywhere. My fiancee hates it =D

Was worth the expensive price tag at the time, now it's £100 less at £140. Keeps you dry and you can hid the tail so works as a normal jacket.

Not expensive, but definitely dependable. I took one of their rain jackets to Peru for two weeks during their wet season, and stayed toasty the whole time. I don't see the model i have, but their current stuff looks good.,
