As an aside... this piece of work was done by Oliver Harrison, a student at St Martins in 1988... that's ages before digital ever happened (I was there in 91 and they had only just got a computer room set up with about 5 Mac Classics, none of which were capable of animation. I don't even think Director existed back then).

He did this all manually on the rostrum camera therefore. It doesn't look like much now I guess, but at the time it was mindblowing.

The sheer creative endeavour of making this piece of work happen was incredible and he was immediately commissioned from his graduate show to create a TV ad in the same vein for the Royal Mail, then another for British Rail.

Just thought I'd put it in here because for me, this piece of work was what inspired me the most back in the day (when I was a teenager, before I had status and before I had a pager).

    • you have a pager? can I get my dime bag please?zenmasterfoo
