the lx5 is slightly bigger, but i prefer it.

they are both f2 at widest, but when fully zoomed -
    lx5 - 24mm = f2, 90mm = f3.3
    s95 - 28mm = f2, 105mm = f4.9

The wider lens (24mm) plus manual video, plus the wide tele aperture on the lx5 wins it for me.

non-manual video looks like ass, its always at the widest aperture which means its usually @ 1/4000th of a sec shutter, which means mega choppy footage indeed.

    • huge difference between 3.3 and 4.9. i dont know what the s95 is @ 90mm though, but id be surprised if its wider.Hombre_Lobo
    • on glass this small, does the aperture really matter? seems it puts everything in focus anyway, at either end.jaylarson
    • its not about focus, its about how wide they can go. Which means better low light shooting.Hombre_Lobo
    • and also means faster shutter at the long end, which is needed for sharper pics.Hombre_Lobo
    • great for low light, sure, but wide lenses by definition increase dof. and on smaller chips like these, dof doesn'tjaylarson
    • change that much whether you're at 2 or 4.9.jaylarson
    • oh yeh thats for sure, DOF differences are smaller on smaller sensors fo sho.Hombre_Lobo
