i think i'm gonna fly into rome, do rome stuffs, stay the night there then rent a car and head south to herculaneum and pompeii, stopping in naples for some legit pizza. stay in naples overnight after exploring the ruined cities. head back up to florence, stay and do shit there for a couple days, then go further north to venice, stay at a B&B there, then head west to milan to see the ossuary and bug georges before taking a train back to rome for my flight home. i've found a dozen or so non-touristy hidden gems i'll stop at along the way (grottoes, medical museums, relics, an ancient pharmacy)
