Aye, I ended up going with a modern-ish-looking quasi Fraktur-alike, which actually had much the same character/personality as theirs, if not the same actual face. It was for a piece of satirical work for another client, so I was happy enough to find something that was highly reminiscent of the Ritter logotype.
