I'm going back to Alaska to hit the commercial Salmon season again this summer, hopefully I wont have to shoot another charging bear like last year.

this is me on the right.

I still have yet to tell my bear attack story from last year, I've been meaning to make a video about it just haven't had the time.

    • so you're saying you bearly survived?capn_ron
    • Do up the video, always love a good bear attack story and I hope I am never part of one.eryx
    • Take a pic with the next bear! Also be careful man as you are going into their territory, good luck!grafician

    • ITS COMING RIGHT FOR US!pango
    • I love bears, but I'd rather get eaten by a Tiger (like no other) at least they kill you before they eat you, a bear will eat you alive starting w/ your gutsmoldero
    • I'm bringing my camera this time, hopefully it will be the only way I shoot a bear this timemoldero
    • where do berth when you dock / come in for supplies, moldy? (what part of Alaska?)PonyBoy
    • we're doing 'set net' so we're basically running nets off the shore, we have inner and outter nets, outters require a boat to run the nets throughmoldero
    • drop nets is those guys who run nets on the outter side of our outter nets, their set up is way easier, they have wifes and daughters working their crewsmoldero
    • + they have machines that do most of the work pulling in their nets, our boats working our outter nets have systems in place to "help" I dont think they help mumoldero
    • much, they just make a gas smell that makes the sea sickness kick in faster lolmoldero
    • so we work both tides (night and day, no sleep depending how much fish is running) working the inner nets (inernetz) at night is where the Bear fun startsmoldero
    • last year I was working the inner net solo, at around 3:am about 1 click away from our cabin is where I was when a mama bear and 2 cubs got within 3 meters of mmoldero
    • me, their surprisingly super quietmoldero
    • @pony I forgot to mention, we're working out of Nak Nek in Libbyvillemoldero
    • no cell signal, no electricity, no running water, we go into town once a week for a shower, it's roughmoldero
    • our cabin and fishing spot is north of Peterson point: https://goo.gl/maps/…moldero
    • have fun and stay safe moldy! xosea_sea
    • I'll be in the Kenai area for about 2 weeks of August... was thinking we meet and get a beer but you'll be 100 miles 'that way'... *points leftPonyBoy
