I'm going to say Affinity is not quite there yet with Publisher. It's certainly done everything I needed to do, and has some really innovative and intuitive changes (I particularly like how it handles images), but the workflow is hampered by a lack of shortcuts, weird default settings on palettes, and deviations from the InDesign model that are just odd in places.

Worth learning, but getting up to speed is a bit of a slog.

    • Isn't it the only real alternative that can open .indd files too? Layout is a smaller niche than Designer and Photo too.evilpeacock
    • i'm with you on the lack of shortcuts, but i'm pretty much up to speed now, used to all it's quirks etc.hans_glib
