I was obsessed with baseball cards (and baseball in general) as a kid. I got a handful left, but nothing too valuable. Unfortunately most of my cards were stolen out of my dad's house when I was in college. The upside of that was that I made an insurance claim and got a check for probably more than the entire collection was worth.
I still occasionally buy cards, but only for personal/sentimental reasons. Not for investment or profit.
I mean, my team is the Padres. So, like, nobody wants those cards :)
