  I picked up a copy of Philip Pullman's 'The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ' the other week, as I generally like the way he writes, but I didn't flick through it at all. Started reading it on the bus, only to realise that it's all in Biblical-style verse, which very [very] quickly became tedious, so it'll spend the rest of its days sat on a shelf unread, i suspect.
