- crapmeister0

U speak about next to flicks so..
- flatulence0
true dat.
- machito0
Hey sorry for the hater remark, just got the impression people weren't giving him some slack. I think with the way hollywood is pumping out crap 2 and crap the prequel, that someone such as him is trying to do something fun and exciting remeniscent of the good ole days when cinema wasn't a marketers worse nightmare.
But really give the next two flicks a try, he made a beliver out of this guy.

damn godbody.. you lack selfrespect... even about your work, which i still admire hardcore!!
serious.
chin up, respect yourself and laugh at life..
unless you are kidding us ofcourse..

just making conversation godboody, not directing it at you
- AD0
ya - its not accurate term - it's how Tarantino makes his films.
He studied films like crazy before he began directing.
Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs make use of many stylistic elements from many genres - Film Noire, detective /Gangster flicks, Japanese cinema. These movies wouldn't have exists in there current format without borrowing elements from movies he studied.
It doesn't make Pulp Fiction completely unoriginal. Otherwise, every Hollywood film is unoriginal then these days (well that's almost true but anyway).

everybody is just looking for ways to bring me down.
- flatulence0
godbody, i don't think anyone thought that you were the hater...or maybe some of 'em do?
- flatulence0
ripping off is certainly the wrong term...
- unknown0
i guess everyone is still mad over the city on fire thing.
- Bluejam0
Who ever thought of the term 'rip off' should have their eyes gouged out with a blunt wooden spoon. And then force fed glue.
It's a crap reaction.
It's a f®©kin' cliche.
It's not even funny.
- unknown0
i said i wasn't one of them!!! chill guys.
- 4cY0
ha, AD beat me to it..
i don't think it's ripping off either.. it's simply to obvious to be qualified a rip-off.
- 4cY0
"he's ripping off kungfu/blacksploitation flicks.."
well, remember Jackie Brown?
then remember Shaft..
see?
I still think Tarantino rocks tho..
- AD0
ripping off or paying homage - i don't think Tarantino's putting these films and Jackie Brown out thinking that nobody will spot the style elements from these genres (kungfu/blacksploitation )
if you said he was ripping off a particular movie or director but to rip off a whole genre?? wouldn't that mean nobody could make another film noir, western, horro etc?
- flatulence0
...and kung fu ripped off the movements of nature's animals...
blah blah blah
He loves kung fu movies, what's the big deal? Check out the re-release of Iron Monkey...Great kung fu movie! and funny too!
