Mad busy today. Painting, then meeting with my friends about our camping trip, then Bluesfest for the rest of the day (we want front row spots). Starting now...

First time Sean Paul came to Ottawa, apparently. People were fawning over him. Half of those people don't listen to or keep up with his music. So, basically, Ottawa is just full of nice people. There was a HUGE crowd there for him today, and the weather and view were really nice. There was one moment when Sean Paul sang, "I Kissed A Girl and liked it..." and I thought he was going to sing the entire thing. Really, he was singing some song where the primary lyrics were "booom booom boom". Something sexual, I'm sure.
There was a reggae and disco theme today. Before Sean Paul The Hammerheads were on.
http://www.thehammerheads.com/me…Every other song was a cover song (including "Groove Is In The Heart") so it was fun. Mainly 70s music though.

So I told my mom, "you just need to sign up to that site again, just use a different email address."
To which she replied, " I don't have another email account."
Me: "Sign up for one using yahoo or something"
Her: "Now that's just CRAZY!!!!"
Me: *sigh

I'm pretty impressed with Black Mountain so far. Not necessarily with their handling of the instruments, but the writing is just great...
- First listen didn’t grab me, but when they pop up on random, I do like them.MrOneHundred

I'm going to redo chossy.com and stick up all the things I have done on it that I am relatively pleased with. It will still look like a child's website I can assure of that.

I am doing a 1 and a 1/2 page for a men's style magazine. They have commissioned a hand-drawn style, but the areas for the image work are limited, and oddly positioned as small zones dotted amongst columns of text. Not sure how crazy I should go with drawing under the type columns.
Not sure how crazy to go full stop. A little voice keeps saying "Go proper crazy" and another one says "This isn't the job for going totally crazy".
Hmmm.
Chewing more vulcanised mango might help.
- It's okay.
Go crazy.
Go batshit crazy.******** - Okay, I will.

each morning I drive along the ocean for a few miles to an old grey general store that sells the New York Times. This morning as I did this some confluence of music and view reconfigured my usual mental landscape and I saw that the present is all we have. For some reason an idea of a cross entered my awareness and I saw that crucifixion and resurrection are images representing dying to each moment as it passes. Daft, eh?
