my wrists and forearms feel strained at the end of every day. i'm thinking about switching off my mouse usage between both hands. does anyone else do this or have any tips? i know if i let this go on forever it will be bad news.

masturbation jokes are ok, but please do not suggest wearing wristguards. typing is not an extreme sport. thanks.

heres a serious tip, my mom had surgery on both her wrists due to c.t., im heading down the same road, anyways, the tip:
when you sleep, try to make sure your hands are perfectly straight, dont sleep with your wrists bent, youll be amazed how much better they feel after a while of sleepin like this. also take time out while workn to stretch your hands, like every 5-10mins.see if that helps

cadalic - that link looks pretty promising. does anyone have a tablet that they use in place of a mouse? if so, can you have a tablet and a mouse of your choice connected at the same time? on the site it looks like each tablet ships with it own special mouse you'd need to use.

Get a wacom, and switch between using mouse and wacom.
Also stretch often when working...
Not only your arms and back but your whole body. Get up and away from your computer for a few minutes and stretch.

touch your thumb to your wrist and bend your four fingers back. this should help you with carpal tunnel
