We've all seen them, the young hacker "fights" the experience one, police investigators or scientists having a genius moment infiltrating the secure area, in reality compiling code is boring, in movies it looks exciting.
What are the best ones?

I'd love to work on the interface design for this shit.
I don't think I've ever seen andything that closeley looks serious.
Browsers are oversized, bullshit image resolution upscalling and password screens that look like they're childrens books.
One exception that springs to mind is Enemy of the State.- yes! the single out a persons face in the background, then hit "magnify" and it looks crisp as HDMeeklo

Anyone remember a magazine called Shift?
I read that years ago and had all the issues saved. They had a great article on the best computer related movies that had all this kind of stuff in it.
War Games is one of my favorite movies as well, but isn't the premise hilarious these days?

They're all fucking shit. Why can't they look like they should? Why should hacking have all this motion fucking shite?
- cause it would look boring is my guessMeeklo
- agreed, but i think the point is, what's the coolest looking fake one?subimage
- Look boring but if it adds to the credibility of a story it's the right thing to do.5timuli
- Everyone gets pissed at me when I say "Yeah that's soo fake" during a UI sequence in a movie, sounds like you're the same.rounce

Just like on tv, when people 'access information' they just mash the keyboard with all fingers and thumbs, like they can type t 3,000 words a minute.

Total geek stuff but did anyone notice in Office Space how when Peter was trying to leave early he had a document open in an obviously Mac OS9 environment, he saved his document to a path starting with C:\ and then shut down to a dos prompt?
