so i've been fine with SWFObject v1.5 for a long time but am now going to make the swith to v2.0.
the only thing that holds me back is the user now gets directed to the adobe update page and doesn't get redirected to the orginal page after de upgrade is finished.
maybe i'm missing something but i've tested this in several browsers with different flashplayers, anybody got any experience on this subject or could recommend other methods of detection.thanks in advance.

He doesn't have to get redirected, depends which method you use. Check the docs. With 2.0 there is a static way, and a dynamic way. expressInstall is optional.

Just let everyone know, the "Click to Activate" behaviour is now removed according from IEBlog. You shouldn't get that issue anymore after you have updated through Windows Update!! :)

do you have the express install param?
so.useExpressInstall("expressins...
i thought that was supposed to keep you from redirecting

when using expressinstall the flashupdater appears inside the flashmovie like it's supposed to do. when you click 'yes' to start the update a new browser window opens and installs the player from the adobe site. but the other brwoser windows closes immediatly.
result: the visitor leaves your site and doesn't get redirected by the adobepage like it did in 1.5.
Win XP, IE 7.0

Does anyone know if there is an issue with IE7 and SWFObject 1.5, I reading all the documentation and getting mixed messages

I have an issue where by a border appears around flash in FF3, when there is <object> tag in html code.
Swfobject 1.5 generates just <embed> tag, so we didn’t have this problem earlier. And swfobject 2.0 generates <object>.
does qany one else have this problem?
