I just realized how important "fit" is when buying clothes. I didn't know this that much before viewing this:

Interesting (to me).

if the clothes fit....
- Jaline0
I mainly didn't realize this in terms of clothing for men.

I find stretch lycra fits whether you're 40 pounds or 400, obviously it looks better if it is not stretched to the point of transparency - but maybe that's just me

that's awesome, GQ made a few different me look exactly the same. Good for them.

the 2nd and the last one are a bit overdone, but the rest show how a good fit can make a massive difference.

Before: relaxed posture, natural light, low saturation, wide lens.
After: posed, studio lights, portrait lens.
Its amazing what professional photography techniques can do for your fit.

For sure, slappy, but a lot of it makes sense.

a common problem is that men can't be fucked to try on clothes at the store so they judge clothing by how it looks on the rack, or on the someone else that they're trying to emulate...

personally, I have a moustache so I can wear anything and nothing, sometimes at once...

I'm not complaining by any means. I just find it interesting how small things, when added together, can make a big difference.

Here's another one that demonstrates how something more "fit" may look nice: http://men.style.com/gq/fashion/…

The 5 Tips Every Short Man Should Know
1) Be honest with yourself. Admit you’re short and buy short-length suits.
You're short, goddammit! Admit it!

pretty much common sense if you have any sort of fashion sense :)
the problem with that article, is that the after clothing outfit costs more than most guys entire wardrobe:
Blazer, $2,025, and jeans, $450, by Dolce & Gabbana. Shirt, $168, by Steven Alan. Shoes, $820, by Church’s.h+m is a good alternative, but all of their clothes are basically:wear once. toss in trash. since they are so cheap haha.

Jaline - I'm a big proponent of a good fit! Just spent $60 getting three pair of jeans tailored and I still don't know if their right.

Also, it's not easy to get things tailored or looking modern unless you really look around.
For example, my dad bought me my first suit when I was going to my third high school prom (that's another story, but I was already a sophomore in college, was asked by a girl who was a senior at our high school part of our multi-year group of friends).
He took me to a place kind of like a Men's Wearhouse. I liked the suit I got at the time - this was 1998 - and did not know much otherwise about what was right or wrong.
A few years ago I looked at the size: 42 Long. 42 Long. In 1998 when I weighed less, was smaller, etc. etc.
Fast forward to 2007 when I bought a new suit at Banana Republic, had a suiting expert tell me what looked good or not, and got one that I completely love: 40 Regular. Modern fit.
It just amazes me that I was put in a 42L back then. I tried that suit on in comparison, and it looked like I was wearing a tent. I remember the guy that helped with it was some old guy in his 70s.
So, my point is, find people who are in tune with modern fashion and close in age to you. You might have to spend more and search harder, but it's worth it. I'm a religious reader of GQ and Details and that's what they say all the time.
