AAARGH!!!!
Dont even get me started!!!!!
It's July and already the streets in Edinburgh are getting busy gearing up towards the madness that is August where the streets are crammed with tourists and it takes you twice as long to go about your everyday things.
All tourists are pretty obnoxious, its the way they wander around in their own little dream world and get in your way.
- walking along the pavement then for absolutely no apparent reason just stop dead so you walk into the back of them.
- walking out of shops without looking to see if the pavement is clear and you walk straight into passerbys.
- walking along trailing your travel day-bag on wheels behind you. but dont drag it in a straight line ... wave it around a bit so that people behind you cant work out if you are about to switch direction or not.
- walk along in HUGE posse's so that local residents have to brave walking on the road
Im off work for a week next week so i'm going to get myself a big f*ckoff rucksack and just wander around the streets getting in tourists ways and walking in front of them like a lost tourist myself hehe. payback!
ok maybe il find something more exciting to do

i have to say, I'm not down with middle aged Italian tourists.

we (the Dutch) don't travel, we wait until unsuspecting forreigners come to our country and feed them mushrooms.. that will make them want to stay.. slowly but surely we are taking over the world.. one traveler at a time.

I try to do my best. I visit Asia a lot and know some Korea and Japanese... enough to get around a bit. However recently I was in Brussells, and if I didn't speak French there were a few people who were rude. They were happy to others, but to me, they were angry and sour.
I'm thinking, Gee, sorry I coulnd't learn some French too, I guess some Korean and Japanese wasn't good enough. I travel a lot and can't study it all. For tourism people need to get over themselves and work with people who can't speak. It can even be fun. When you're an asshole it just ruins a persons view on the whole country.
- not speaking english in belgium,
you're joking right?000000

This Brit couple was being very pushy at the train station this morning whilst getting tickets, guy was asking and asking how the TVM worked and what not. Got pushy with the conductor too. Maybe he was having a bad day.

I guess people just tend to stick out when they are unfamiliar with local customs, though I do think it’s always good to at least find out what some of these customs may be. Ignorant people the world over are guilty of this.

how about mr. bean.

its kind a weird. why would anyone be rude when they are on vacation. make no sense. maybe they don't like vacation.

It's dumb to group people up like that - depends on the person - how they were raised, etc.
This is more of an excuse to state which nationality you already despise for whatever reason. If I were to base my negative opinion regarding the nationality of a tourist on a few bad eggs, then I'd hate the world. But I don't. I have to deal with tourists every fucking day - a lot of them French. And I enjoy their company.
- Of course. I know lots of French haters who are using this article to their advantage.Jaline

whereas brits don't barge you out of the way as they're usually too sunburnt and sunstroked to move too fast
- toe_knee0
yay for outright generalisations.

i've often found chinese people to be quite rude... won't move out of the way for anyone, or just barge you out of the way

Yeah, I kinda knew that when a couple French exchange students came over in Feb. I hosted one of them, good thing he wasn't obnoxious, he just took HELLA long showers.
