is it possible to build an app using flash then run it through adobe air to make it work on iphone?
is it as easy as that or is there more to it?
any resources?

iPhone SDK and Adobe Air should give the answers.
Why not download the SDK for iPhone use its tools? Its not as hard. Only downside is that you wont get the same animation or functions that you will get in Flash.

Maybe stewdio can build one for you.

The iPhone SDK comes with emulator and other visualized tool set that you can build simple app.

Watch some of the tutorials etc.

Your best resource is definitely Apple's developer site. Free to "become a developer" and download the SDK. But then $99 for the real goods like certificate codes that allow you to test your apps on an actual device, etc. Sadly, the free iPhone simulator included in the SDK does not allow you to test accelerometer functions. (You must install on a real device for that.) Also, there's some lag time between paying your $99 and actually receiving your certificates, so plan ahead.
Forget Flash. If you need animation then export some video and pull that video into your iPhone app. (The SDK videos will walk you through how to import media.) For interface elements like buttons, input fields, etc. just use what the SDK provides. You may feel like you're loosing a bit of authorship up front but you'll really thank yourself in the long run.
You'll be able to do some pretty quick complex stuff because your iPhone apps are written in Objective-C and you have access to OpenGL. Immediately that opens up a world of possibility. Don't worry about Flash. It will always be waiting for you when you return to the browser world.

I've got an idea for one that I would really like to spend some time trying to figure out. Won't tell what it is, of course, you thieves, but I think it's something that would be pretty popular if even for novelty. It doesn't exists at all now either.

We'll be submitting our first app this week. I've got it going on my iPhone right now and the immediate response from people I've shown has been good.
We're not sure if it will get past the screening process as it can be seen as offensive. Anyone been rejected before? Do they give proper feedback or just refer you to the section of the rules you have broken?

How are you planning to promote it Andrew_D?

i'd come up with a few ideas for apps after I got my phone
only for similar apps to appear in the shop a week or so later
maybe the iphone was recording my brainwaves and broadcasting to apple or developers :Pone idea was you set a timer and your phone then rings when times-out. handy for getting out of boring meetings/dates/situations
when i thought of the idea there wasnt anything like that, now theres two or three.
stewdio, how easy are apps to put together? do you need a lot of technical knowledge or is it basically like a jigsaw where you piece together all the bits you want then customise/design to suit?
