walk through Lincoln park zoo....its free, and you very casual. cool gorilla display....its integrated with the lake front and in a great neighborhood so you can seamlessly stroll from there to a small botanic garden to some restaurants and bars on clark street..

go up to devon ave. get out of wicker park/downtown area for a bit. devon is awesome--it may not be a museum, but it's fun and the food is really good. there a re a number of good inidian/pakastani restaurants up there. if you taket the bus far enoucgh west you can go through russia, palestine and israel. i dn't know anywhere else in the city that you can drink out of a cooconut. also, big chi(bar) in edgewater has some really nice art. pretty famous stuff .

millnium park. art institue. walk along the lake. navy pier. you can find many young people, restaurants, along clark street north from the loop up to at least addison.....lots of stuff in that area....that is where boys town is, lots of small shops, etc....yeah, sears tower....you can eat on the 95th floor....some kind of view...expensive though.

whenever i have friends in town and they want to see the city i take them to the signature room at the john hancock for a quick bloody mary, shedd aquarium, bar hopping in west loop and downtown, then end the night at kingston mines (if you have not been here this is a must, they close at about 4am, good blues music)
and yes studderine delilahs is a good spot too. i go there a lot.
also look into the architectural tour at the navy pier, that was very fun but it is quite a commitment.
- +1 - me too on the signature room tip. went to kinston for the first time on Friday, it was great!mg33

chicago sucks purely because of the weather. i lived there for a year, but i guess 100 degrees doesn't jive with everyone.

I lived there for 10 year, great place in the good weather months. I think a fun thing to do would be to rent bikes at Navy Pier ( http://www.bikechicago.com/ ) and go up and down the lakefront. Bring a picnic and you are all set for a nice day.

Basically, my wife and I are always looking for a reason to move there... love the city etc.. We go like twice a year and don't really end up doing anything more than hit a museum, eat a lot and walk around Wicker Park. I just feel like we lose the opportunity to see the super rad stuff when we're in town. Not really any hook ups there yet.

Chicago rules. I live here. But i gotta say, there isn't a ton to do here that u can't do anywhere else.
This is a drinking town, so if u like getting wasted till 4am, we gotcha covered :)

restaurant in chinatown called phoenix is really good, prob one of the best in that area. Dim sum, Pressed duck, tsing tao. Cant front on that.

get shitfaced and go eat in greektown. get flaming saganaki. It'll be really cheap and fun.
Also, hit a chinatown noodle shop for lunch, chinatown isnt that impressive but the food makes up for it.
