Will be great, IF:
Disney lets Marvel be Marvel, like they did (for the most part) with Pixar, and Marvel Production in particular and continue with the level of quality control it seems to exert, given Iron Man and Hulk. Will be awful, IF:
Disney just absorbs it all and uses Marvel properties to cross promote Disney properties, like Jonas Bros. teaming up with Spidey (fucking kill me).The encouraging thing is that Disney, unlike Dreamworks, seems to be very cautious when it comes to creative content, especially films, and doesn't just churn shit out. With "Surrogates" coming out (Bruce Willis sci-fi action flick), there is a lot of new interest in pursuing less kid and family fare. So we'll see.
- with lasseter and pixar in charge of animation i would hope that nothing is bastardize on film.7point34
- no idea what this means for the comics though7point34
- They'll probably let the comics just be, but try to sell more. Disney isn't in the comic business.harlequino

Jonas Brothers Comics. LOL

The other thing is, that Disney seems to really "get it" when it comes to newer ways of rolling out a creative property that involves simultaneous media channels - film, tv, comic, gaming, merch, etc. There's not a ton out there currently, but I know a few people there, and it's very much on their mind. If they can own a franchise making property up front, like say the Fantastic Four, or a new Marvel concept, there is no bidding war to option it. They can conceivably turn it over to any media channel they want to use.

marvel is taking in the money.

Its all hollywoods fault. Comic-book movies are the rage, now its becoming industry standard. Wanna write a movie, write a comic. Sucks that Disney is sooo sad it can even make new products that are solid. They are too greedy and force everyone to run away from them.(PIXAR). Just like the music industry I think Disney has to change the way they do business instead of still trying to be the biggest dog.

i think for digital comics like the recent spider-woman release will be an amazing chance for the industry to expand and greatly increase its audience and consumer base, but disney is known as the devil of any industries so lets see if memphisto can handle it as resident lord of hell... i look forward to this, marvel has not had a strong track record for making good decisions so i hope with the new powers at disney, the semi retarded decisions may just possibly be good instead of the recent years at marvel... for the record, marvel loves cross-overs so i expect goofy joining the new avengers soon!!!

All they have to do is add McDonald's to the corp and they can market the crap out of anything.
