is that such a big deal to add that &?
That was not a competition, nothing to win... I don't mind gramme having more time to do it.
The purpose was gathering qbners to make a typeface, so the more the better? no?

it makes no difference whether there are extra or missing characters... you'd never actually use this as a typeface

version3,
While I'm certain you could do a far better job of drawing an ampersand than me, I beg to differ with the "error in time management" bit. If it weren't for obligations that cropped up to clients who pay me for my time, then I would've gotten it done. That's not an error in time management, unless you call being a responsible owner of a growing studio an error. Call me crazy, but I'm not going to turn down real work in favor of drawing a letter for a font with my QBN pals.
Needy? That's not needy, that's simply me not liking to waste time. The guy gave me the distinct impression that I'd still make the cut, and then only after I submit, he tells me it's too late. I wasn't aware the font had already been finished, since reading every post in a 23-page thread is only just below the top of my must-read list. I was under the impression that it was still in the works and I was merely being "disciplined" as an example or something. If it's already been finished, then the hell with it, let's forget about the ampersand.

so... let's see this beast already

you've done the work, sort of (asking jimbo to 'iron out the details'), we've seen it, there were oohs and aahs, now who fucking cares if it's included in anything or not. it's completely useless as a typeface, having it posted in this thread which you can't be arsed to read should be all the validation you need.
now excuse me, i must be off to beat back the clients that are running down my door, can't stay another second.

gramme, I'm sorry you didn't get it, the project had a deadline and even a template you didn't bother to use. If it's such a big deal to you to be included in that project, you could've at least read a bit on it.
All others screaming it's no big deal and what's unfair to others, try to understand two things: you speak only for yourself and every glyph is some time that I must invest. Not you, me. There was a deadline and I can't be arsed adding glyph after glyph if someone feels the love again. It doesn't sound like much, but I have to stop doing whatever I did, download, open, copy, paste, tweak, generate, upload -- for a project that is already finished.
Regarding making it clear, note how I use the words "last update" here: http://www.qbn.com/topics/603321…
Note how I use the words "at least show us" here: http://www.qbn.com/topics/603321…
Having a deadline could've given clues as well, I thought. I said OK, because I'm not your PM, I would say OK if you'd want to make all lowercase too.
It was all about fun gramme, and I am the first to defend the priority of real paid work over this project (you could've said not going to happen, too busy btw), but if all the fun you see here is to be included in the ttf nobody really needs, here you go, updated with the ampersand (resized at will, the template was there for a reason)

Yeah thats fair enough I guess Jimbo, you invested a lot of time in this mate. Big pat on back for all your hard work.
now everybody has to try sneak this monster into a client project... and show the results

I get your point and I suppose I should've just taken myself out of the running. The fact that I had to work during my vacation would've been a good indicator that I should've given my ampersand to duckofrubber, rather than keep trying to find time for it a couple weeks after everyone else was done. At the time, it seemed worse to back out but I think you're right, that would've been better.
- seriously, it's only take an hour or two, i can do like over 20 in one single daytypist

And again, no the fact that I'd missed the cut wasn't obvious, but then again there's a reason they called me Captain Oblivious in college.
- typist0
@ jimbo, what do you mean by take over the lowercase?
- if you want to continue the project, you can manage lowercase submissions, I have no timejimbojones
