Guys, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this:
I'm looking into embedding a few Youtube videos onto a site that is invite only. Thus I am holding the Youtube account as private.
The issue with this is you can view them but you have to be friends.
Is it possible to embed these videos via, say, an API key and be able to watch them without being friends?Ultimately I can have the videos turned into flv's and host them on the server, but am looking to keep costs as low as possible, eg hosting etc
I am actively researching this now so spare me the LMGTFY links plz.
Feedback much appreciated.
Cheers.

I know can send out unique urls so people who are not friends can watch private movies but not sure about embedding them.

vimeo plus allows this

If youtube doesn't do this, you could fake it with an iFrame pointing to your specified location (no one has to know you faked it ;)

interesting point... cheaper than forking out $60 a year ...
so i would iframe the video out to youtube? thing is the client is particular and only wants the video published behind a closed door.

Well, Jnr mentioned you could generate unique URLs, but he wasn't sure about embedding them. Use my solution to embed them and you're done.

Ah, wait, there is a limit of 25 people per vid for the unique url, am afraid.

hrm...
you need to have a youtube account and be signed in to get the private link.

Really? I just sent out a unique url for a private vid last week and they didn't need an account or signed in to watch it.
