i like the re-design. might have a bit more scroll as stuff are wider now. :-) still, nice.
On a 1024x768 monitor (40% of users) the content doesn't start until half way down the page because of the advertising banner and navigation. I think that's a bit of a problem. Other than that it's a big improvement.
Also, on a cloudy day the weather icon makes it look like the CN Tower is on fire...
- 40% of the users that are too brain dead to upgrade. just kidding, but is that a global number because i'm sure most toronto housholds have much higher_niko
- ...toronto housholds have a higher resolution._niko
- or canadian for that matter._niko
- lots of people still use powerbook 12' or ibooks.Tungsten
^ that looks like the space needle farting.
hate it! just sayin'
hard to nav .
banner ad at top dominates
if hey want to look like the Globe and the Post, congrats.
i did some design work for them years and years ago, around 1999-2000...worked on a 'photo and page sales' store for them...
things look much better on that site now than they did then, i can tell ya....
personally, i like the new design..sure, there's problems...the mast-head, ad space, nav etc...it takes up a lot of room...but a lot of the folks there, the star being what it is, have a 'print' mentality....give em credit for doing this much..its a massive improvement...
damn it is freaking cold right now in Toronto.
