I'm building a site for the iPhone to which I have to match font sizes and layouts to an App.
I'm trying to overlay screenshots and line things up but I'm reducing the sizes for the site to match that off the app.
for example
Both are supposed to be using 18px headers but there feels like the font sizes are appearing different. I have reduced the font size of the I have stopped using EM's and now using px so I am sure there is nothing going on. I am also very sure that the default font sizes for both app/safari are in effect.Anyone experienced this difference before or am I tripping?!

"I'm building a site for the iPhone"
Do you mean a site to be viewed ON an iPhone
or
A site FOR iPhone or related and you need to mockup a iPhone on screen with a fake app photoshopped in there?

Anyway, not sure if you can use this:
http://www.testiphone.com/But regarding the fonts, is the difference simply in how the iPhone renders the text vs Safari? They may have optimized it differently for the iPhone to improve legibility.
Just throwing it out there.
- Safari on the Mac that is. I know it's Safari on the iPhone too.ETM

The fonts may not be the same between a monitor and the iphone screen because the iPhone screen has a different resolution, and makes fonts look smaller. iPhone screen I believe is 120dpi where a normal monitor is 72dpi.

how about taking screen shots of the app on an iphone and using them as reference to build the site?
- Stugoo0
I think the DPI could be the issue.
I'm deving on a desktop, previewing here on safari, uploading and testing on the phone.
Overlaying screen grabs is what I am doing.
