This is driving me mad...
I want to have a transparent div floating over a background, but with opaque text. I found a tut on how to do this (http://stevenyork.com/tutorial... which is fine, but I can't get the two divs to expand with the browser
The main div (container) is set to 40% width and moves fine. But the div sitting inside it (box1) will only expand as far as the text allows - I can't get it to expand to fill the width of the containing div. I tried adding an invisible gif to hold it open, but then at a browser width of 800px the heading should break and doesn't. I tried adding in a load of nbsps but they just add unwanted space below the sub head.
Any of you CSS gurus know a work-around, or am I wasting my time with this idea?
