Download free version of Sketchup if none of the above do what you want. You could get the basic shape and just export to Illy.

I just found this. I think the top right one is a tetrakaidecagon.
- nice!
some of the sides look uneven though (not accurate) but that's exactly the kind of 3d I'm looking forMeeklo - afterMeeklo
- ahhh now I am not so sure...
Its hard to count the sides.AMOK - its possible that is may never be a symmetrical shape?
AMOK - I think its possible, what I mean by accurate is that is hmm.. mathematically exact?Meeklo
- sorry, english is not my first languageMeeklo
- nice!

yeah, I think this should be pretty easy to achieve on 3D but, to be honest I'm intimidated by 3D apps, I would love to do some of the stuff people here do w c4d, on a budget I downloaded a copy of some free modeling software for mac, and I couldn't figure it out.
so I figure I can stick to what I know..

i think most 3d softwares do this as easily as you do the flat one in illustrator.
maybe try and install some demo and try to create it rotate and find the best angle.

Hello
I'm working on a logo that needs to be based from a 3D Polygon, more specifically a tetrakaidecagon (14 sides)I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source where I can copy/ trace the basic (accurate) shape, I don't really know any 3D apps, and illustrator will do a tetrakaidecagon but its flat, and kinda looks like a circle with straight edges.
I know it's kinda weird request, but I'm going through google images and most of the shapes are flat or not accurate polygons so, maybe someone knows here?
I would love this in vector format, but at this point I don't mind tracing it from a small gif, it doesn't look like it would be hard to do if I had the right image.
thanks in advance!
Just to illustrate:
this is what I usually find: (flat)Looking for something like this: (3d)
