what exactly goes through your head when reading articles like this? how do you reconcile fact with your religion? do you just dismiss this stuff as "temptation placed by satan" or do you simply edit and delete huge portions of your faith as it becomes convenient? what do your priests think about that practice?
honestly, just curious.

Why would Christians believe man is only 2000 year old? Where would that put Moses then? Flying around with tablets before Jesus, the first man?

I don't think Christians hold the 'world is 2000 years old' as a real tenant of their faith. They hold the life/death and teaching of Jesus Christ as described in the New Testament as something to live up to. That the world was created, by God, in 7 days a few thousand years ago is an OLD Testament thing and all you're doing is combining it with the fact that with the unrealted fact that Jesus was believed to have lived 2000 years ago. No Christian in the world say the world started when Jesus was born so you are fundamentally incorrect, you make false assumptions so therefore false conclusions.

Although I agree that Christianity is largely made up of huge chunks of semi-interesting fiction, this thread is full of idiotic assumptions about people who worship Christ.
- HAHAHAHAHA. We're the idiots for NOT believing this shit!? Fuck it.monospaced

Your premise is flawed and unfair. This is actually quite easy for modern-day rational people of christian faith to reconcile as true. Most do not believe the bible to be historic fact, but rather a guide for living well. It's the small, yet LOUD, minority of crazies that don't get it. In fact, some of the loudest DO get it, but they make tons of money being loud, so...
To me, the real issue to question is the idea of an anthropomorphic god in the first place. I believe in energy as proof of existence; not aliens, zombies, or other man-made explanations for the great unknowable universe.
- the problem is that you take some to be historical fact and some you ignore...it's ridiculousmonospaced
- By 'you' I hope you don't mean me. I'm not defending the christian religion (or any religion), just think the argument flawed.duckofrubber
- is unfair to the many non-crazies out there who actually can reconcile science with a christian concept of god.duckofrubber

personally as Christian I see that is a small part of extremists that believe that, sadly they are Americans so often they publish videos and make a big deal about it... and besides that, any source of information should be questioned. There is no guarantee in anything beside your personal experience... so, only because discovery says something you accept it without questioning?

If Xtians were ever peaceful people they might not get so much flack in believing in a Superman in the sky, but as a whole, both the bible and the cult a war mongers. And nobody likes war mongers.
