Anyone with a brain knows that the world was created 3000 years ago.

I'm not religious, but this doesn't in any way deny the existence of God. The more I learn about the world and how perfectly and completely everything fits together and how mind-bogglingly huge the universe is, the more I am in awe of the energy and life force that holds us together. Science to me confirms the existence of a God-like force. Call it whatever you want.
It's pointless to judge Christians or any other peace loving religions - I know there are nauseating specimens - but I have researched a lot of religions and it seems weird to me that Jesus (there is non-religious proof that he existed) is the one everyone decides to pick on when he was the least judgmental and actually one of the wisest and most loving of teachers that I've read about.
Sorry about the ranty nature of this. It's just something I've been thinking about a lot lately with all the Jesus bashing going on...
- peace loving. you have to read the bible, you got violence, incest, war, killing, more like Perverted Xtiansrobotron3k
- It's ok to be judgmental on this issue.Mimio
- I have read the bible - have you? God is always described as total love.SunSunSun

the Bible should have a disclaimer in the front saying 'This is fiction.'

I thought christians (the ones who take the bible as truth) thought the earth was 6000 years old.
Jesus was only supposed to have been born 2010 years ago- The bible narrative starts just before the beginning of the bronze ageSalarrue

Reminds me of the allegory of the cave.
Pretty soon people will be like "So you reeeealy believe that there was this huge explosion and then everything came into existence? Really?"
- eieio0
You forget that Jesus Christ was a man princple not blind faith. Archeology didn't exist when the Bible, the first one that lays out how the earth was created, so they had nothing to go by and didn't consider it a dogma until the scientific institution squared off against the various theological institutions like 400 years ago then all of a sudden this belief was brought into question and the shit hit the fan. It doesn't negate the true message of Christianity that is still around a relevant.
- If some of it it is a lie, then all of it is a lie.Mimio
- if Jesus WAS a Jew, why did he create a different cult and call it Christian? sounds like Jesus has no principle.robotron3k
- you don't know what I'm saying. Some of it was inaccurate because it was ancient, but most of it has nothing to do with the origin of the world.eieio
- ...with the origin of the world. It has everything to do with life style and morality.eieio
- In fact, the problem is religion structure and not faith itselfSalarrue
- Jesus did not create a cult and call it Christian. He was killed by the religious.SunSunSun
