Are you looking to include more terms? Specify an interest rate should they miss their deadline and any grace period that you allow, etc.

I the undersigned do hearby agree to pay $XXX.XX by XX/XX/XXXX and $XXX.XX by XX/XX/XXXX. I also agree that should I fail to pay either amount by the date specified that there will be an additional charge of 8% of the total amount due, calculated weekly. Should this continue for more than one month I agree to death by firing squad.

just put in exactly what it want it to say. if you want it to cover you in case of non-payment, write something about non-payment.
need a deposit? write it in there!
need assets by a certain deadline? write it in there!
just use your common sense when you word it, and again.. make sure it covers everything you want to agree to. if its not in the contract, its not enforceable.

You're wasting your time if you think something that basic will be enforceable in a court of law. A decent lawyer can turn the above into something that says YOU OWE THEM or that it was your mom's mom great grand sisters cousin's grandmother who signed it.
Get something more substantial and templatize (is that a word?) it if you don't want to spend hours on creating a contract.
Either or, it kinda looks lazy or unprofessional handing something like that to a client.
