we've been having internet problems (slowness) lately so they had an IT guy come out and from what i'm told he installed some kind of monitor to find out which station in the office is using up the bandwidth. if this is true i figure the boss saw my extensive IM activity and had it blocked

i tried to message you and got an error say it will send to your gmail..
you might have a conflicting pref set to forward your messages to that location.

maybe it blocked the port it uses (5190)

sometimes.. for an odd reason, aim changes your prefs to be offline and wont let you connect. on the top right bar you might your "IM" status.. make sure its set to "available" and then quit and re-start iChat. that may solve your issue or its a firewall.

Do you use Little Snitch by any chance? Maybe you accidentally blocked the connection...

for the last week i have been unable to connect to AIM through either adium or ichat at work.
the accounts are sound, as i can connect at home.
any ideas on how to get around this?
