Looking for recommendations on good screencasting software for the mac, preferably free or at least easily obtainable.
I've tried a couple (forget their names) and they either choked my machine, didn't have enough features, or recorded at a crappy resolution. I want to record my drawing process to use as a guide for my interns, and may post stuff for other interested folks. Thanks!
iShowU HD is great. compresses as you are recording, so when you hit stop, the file is done. others i've tried begin the compression after you stop.
its not free but there's a $20 and a $30. try the demo.

Jing project pro
- < Jing is amazing if you want to share screengrabs or vids regularly, just tried it outrosskemp
- Only lets you save as SWF files to your machine tho, unless you pay for the pro version (can save Mpeg4)rosskemp
- It's nice, wish I could speed up the playback tho.arthur
I'm a screencast software developer for Windows but also have a macbook. I recommend ScreenFlow. It's a decent screen recorder for making tutorial as always.
