The pub signs were commissioned by John Wood at Wood and Wood, who were re branding the John Smith estate for Courage Breweries.
They used The Partners, who involved illustrators, Andrew Davidson, Mick Brownfield and Geoff Appleton. There are 155 illustrations in all. The project won Silver D and AD in 1987
They were originally printed on Vitreous enamel and were approx. 650 x 650 mm in size. Some of the illustrations are about to be released by the copyright owner (J Wood) on printed canvas at 1300 x 1300 mm.- it all comes back to me now... thanks for your helphans_glib
