line 81 has an function called h.fade and line 10 has a fade attribute selected false.

If I change it to "fade: true," on line 10 that's to replace the slide. I'd like to have both of them in place at the same time, or at least something that does not flash before fading. I'll look at the documentation. Thanks.

you can edit the fade function (line 81) to include a slide animation in addition to the fade, and set the opacity to .4 or something (I think that's what you are asking).
You can also create a new function (fadeAnimate or the like) and add a new function that does what you want, probably the better option.
