I just bought my first antique!
It's a Rosewood Victorian Writing Slope.
Sadly, it's getting butchered into a modern-day purpose. The writing surface is being replaced by black/silver (not decided) aluminium with two large holes cut in it with an iPad behind each hole.
Old Vs New / Moog kinda vibe : dual touchscreen controller for Ableton Live
to run Touch-Able, Kapture Pad & MidiTouch (by IOS Midi).
It'll also house a 4 way plug socket and cables for ipads. My breakout box soundcard and USB to Midi Converter so that theres only two wires coming out of the setup. 1x Power 1x USB to Computer.
Quite excited! never done any DIY antique butchery before haha.
pics or ...
I just got it last night on ebay so will take up to a week to come I guess.
Pics and progress when it comes :)
Rosewood is a lovely wood, one of my favorite.
i'm planning on butchering some antiques too.
want to build a projector into a chinese tea table.
shame you're destroying it
growing up with a master carpenter, I'd call this destroying. to each his own.
