where have I seen this before?- This was also my very first thought when I saw the trailer.randommail

Drive is nothing like Transporter.

‘Drive Angry’ on the other hand, is very best avoided entirely.
It's no good even as a turn-yer-brain-off for a couple of hours of mindless idiocy.
- I concur - I watched it super-baked and in 3d and still found it boring.Projectile
- drive angry would have been better if Nicolas cage was every charactermoldero
- because hes so awesomemoldero

trust this movie isn't an action movie. very kurbick, cronenberg
- yes sirJSK
- think its more michael mann then kubrick or cronenbergattentionspan
- brandelec0
and soundtrack gives it that vice city meets michael mann feel

Can I wear driving gloves if I'm not a stuntman/getaway driver?

That movie was total shit. Really annoyed I wasted money seeing it.
- Why was it shit?toodee
- no 3D?attentionspan

i saw spy kids 4 yesterday, i'm fairly certain i will like this better.

4 1/2 stars, cinematography was awesome, soundtrack was awesome, style was awesome, story was ok but didn't need to be much more because of the style... vauge / kubric style.
my only hang up is this... it needed at least one more crazy driving scene.. really there's only one and it wasn't that crazy.
Also they coulda done better on the car selection... i get that he's using random inconspicuous cars but still.
if it had that it would have been pretty damn perfect.

But, but... you don't get it... because the driving scenes were just bridges between intense character studies...
You know. Characters who wear fluffy jackets covered in blood in broad daylight chewing and offering toothpicks to 4 year olds.

i saw the screening of this one. meh, it was okay. the ending was really stupid.
the real factor was pretty low. lol.

he's a driver. he shouldn't be a expert at killing/fighting. just saying.

Highly enjoyed. The neighbor's husband was quite well played.
Question: do you think the fella in the elevator was a hitman or in the wrong place/wrong time?
- If I didn't understand that scene I'd probably not have said "highly enjoyed". More like WTF.cannonball1978
- he was a hit man. Remembered him from Nino's place.Beeswax
- frost2150
He was a hitman, he had a gun and was part of the dudes crew

I see what they were going for. Sort of No Country for Old Men subtlety. And I really enjoyed the acting and soundtrack... but as a whole I found it lacking
I thought it was far too Cohen/Kubrick for it's own good. It's like Refn decided to make a movie like that one or two he'd seen in the same way that I can splash paint around just like Pollock. He's not a true master- too wannabe artsy.
What would have solidified this movie is, like Sofaking said, if it were to suddenly burst into the most intense scene that went on for a while. There needed to be a release, a bump in the plateau. I'm not saying heavy metal and car chase explosions, just something like this:
- Just what I was thinking. But saying that it was still an enjoyable movie to watch, one of the best of the year for me.pillhead

loved it. kind of glad there wasn't gratuitous driving scenes, because it was more about the quiet driving moments, really. turned the car into a temple, was kind of spiritual. imo.

very stylized and handled in an unusual way. I liked that I didn't know what was going to happen in the next scene in an action/thriller.
