I love how the designer suddenly realised there wasn't the olympic rings or NBC logo and quickly added them in lol
top is too heavy
'you didn't murder the type'
I disagree that type looks pretty dead to me.
At least it isn't seizure inducing.
is that Queen Elizabeth tower?
It's mundane paint by numbers dullery.
Kind of like a sign someone might make for the entrance to a Ye Olde Englishe Streete, just off West and Compton*, made in 1988.
* clearly I have no idea how to form an imaginary Aewrican address, so just roll with it — it's early, and I'm not putting this out to national broadcast.
Wait a minute..
This is one of the worst things related to the olympics that I've seen. And i've been working on Olympic projects for the last 2 years.
Can't believe they use the 'Elizabeth Tower' either ;)
Funny thing is... this is exactly what middle England ("OH MY KID COULDDA DONE THAT") would have preferred to the current branding.
How brilliantly shit
Co-worker just walked past and said that 'at least it was better than the actual 2012 logo'.
Only pompous designers would pick this shit apart, which is why it doesn't matter. It's just a station logo that will only be used for 2 weeks people. You think anyone watching the Olympics is going to have anything to say about this logo?
This isn't some major rebranding for something that will last for years.
The tower leans away, the ribbon/London type leans forward with a twist...
What I don't understand is why they're not obligated to use the existing brandwork, or some basic derivative thereof — especially given how absolutist and anally-retentive the IOC are with their fucking brand and its commercial ties, it seems strange they'd let such a large media outlet publicise their event with such a weak piece of crap.
And it is weak, cz4 - you mewrely highlight your own low standards if you argue otherwise.
aka "If you disagree with me, you're just wrong — go to your room"
Design = Pomp
If you don't see that, you should go work as an account handler.
It's absolutely fucking hideous. And perfect.
I don't care.
