No, dude, I don't agree.
Disgusting intentions; making Palestine disappear. Men, women, childs. Why can't you see that?
- chukkaphob0
^ are you talking about the current war, or about the overall conflict?
The current war was started by Hamas; NOT by Israel. Israel is defending itself and reacting to Hamas launching rockets.
The overall conflict has been going on for centuries. Palestinians hate Jews, and Jews hate Palestinians....because of different religious beliefs. For as long as both tribes remain brainwashed by their own religious beliefs, there will be war and death...unfortunately.
- Palestinians don't hate Jews and vice versa. Seriously. I live here. This is all about politics, capitalism and the military industrial complex.renderedred
- industrial complex.renderedred
- I have many friends who have been living in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem for as long as you have, and longer than youchukkaphob
- Please give me a break about the conflict not being caused by the religious beliefs. 100% it is.chukkaphob
- No, really. It's only politics. Religion has nothing to do with this.renderedred
- Jews and Arabs have the same ancestors according to both the Torah and the Koran.renderedred
- Religion is used to fuel the conflict but it's not the reason.renderedred
- The ROOT of the problem is religion. The political aspect stems from the religious conflict.chukkaphob
- Of course they have the same ancestors. The difference between them is their religious beliefs.chukkaphob

Let's not get caught in the cycle of "one or the other". It's so ridiculous. There are so many left leaning commentators that seem to support the Hamas position without acknowledging their agenda. And there are so many unconditional supporters of Israel, it's equally blinkered.
As far as I'm concerned, both sides share the blame for the atrocious situation.

@imagineallthepeople
1. As someone who has lost 80 people from his family due to the fact they were Jewish (Jasenovac Concentration Camp mostly), all of my ancestors except 2 people, my great grandmother and my grandmother, one could imagine I heard more than a few eyewitness accounts and read more than a few books.
2. As someone who's Japanese grandfather was in a concentration camp in the US during WWII for being Japanese, I saw that this was not an "exclusive" to Germany during WWII.
3. As someone who lives in Israel for the last 22 years and in Jerusalem for the last 13, I guess I can see the parallels, not only from books and my family's experience but here, in the midst of what's happening. So, you want to see it for yourself? Some over and try. I highly recommend it.

@imagineallthepeople
Palestinians in Gaza are in a concentration camp man. They have nothing to do, no work and no way out.
What would you do?
- inteliboy0
imagineallthepeople -- only posts on this thread. Anyone else find that odd?
- renderedred0
And in conclusion, just for you @imagineallthepeople take a detailed and non-biased look at propaganda being used, how media handles all this, maybe, just maybe, you may discover the same elements surfacing throughout this conflict.

I haven't met one, not one Palestinian that was aggressive towards me, all this time, and I live in a mixed neighborhood, I shop in Arab shops (it's cheaper and the the vegetables are much better). Never, even one look or problem. On the other hand I was harassed for being an Anti-Zionist by Jews numerous times. I was threatened with violence by Jews and still am on a daily basis. And, yes, I am Jewish. That is the conformism I am talking about a few posts back.

- roll your eyes but try being an Anti-Zionist in Israel.renderedred
- Very telling perspective. Ignore the eyeroller, he's a simpleton.********

imagineallthepeople, of course the Israeli public is well aware of the consequences of war having dealt with it for her entire existence. The little I do know about their politics is that not all are settlers or right-wing Likud who support Netanyahu, so the 90% approval surprises me. This was a very quick escalation to war. This feels like a very right-wing, gung-ho policy, giving little attention to any diplomatic solutions prior to full on conflict. It reminds me a lot of the Republicans rush into conflict with large support of a fearful American public.

I actually do plan on visiting, but not for any NS shit.
regarding your personal history: that's interesting, but that doesn't make your claim any clearer or less mysterious to me. the only thing I take from that is that you're probably not an anti-semite, which for itself doesn't make a nazi-comparison any less idiotic than the nazi-comparisons from the anti-semites.
"the state of israel is a natural continuation of the NS movement"
I take it you can't be arsed to share your insight. very well.
- ********-3
.
ah, I think I get what you mean. nationalist assholes, chauvinists, racists, opressing opposing views violently. fundamentalists. when you say that these kind of assholes are slowly taking over the state and its institutions, organized and in concert, then that would be an NS kind of thing I guess.
- renderedred0
little steps @imagineallthepeople. :) hammas was financed by the israeli government in order to overthrow fatah.
- ********-1
.
I know, a nice anecdote, so what? doesn't mean hamas is any less responsible.- rather a fact than an anecdote in my view.renderedred
- If you create a kill ratio of 1000: 36 deaths. Hamas is 4% responsible. The other 96% goes to Israel.********

Watching Hamas and the Israelis is much like watching Hannibal
One of these fuckers is misleading us, pretending they are innocent while the other is fighting for their right to live. I'm not going to name any names but they've been blamed for almost every single war known to man, been hated by mankind for centuries, even been blamed for killing Jesus, and corrupting kids, television, financial systems, and privatizing America and we're all like.... was it the Hamas?
A country backed with billions of dollars with so much technology they can slice your dick off from deep space. Yet when you look at their kill ratio, you find that they've killed over 1000 people. Most being innocent kids and civilians, and we're like.... could it be the Hamas?! They've killed 36 people, 3 of them innocent. C'mon everyone... let's be fair....both sides are too blame here. Right?
So if someone from the other side of the neighborhood was to throw a rock at your bulletproof window. Would it be fair to shoot a large missile into his house killing his entire neighborhood, and blame him because he started it?
- thats cause its sacrifice season. the other reason for war.yurimon

UN Official Chris Gunness Breaks Down On Air After School Bombinghttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/20…
what can we do from here?
- GeorgesIV3
@Chukabob, you say the current conflict was started by hamas and I'd like to differ a bit,
but I'm sick of arguing with the chosen one,
you know full well most of the tunnel where used for bring food, medicine and other banned products (included weapons),
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaz…you will then retort hamas started sending the rockets first,
here's a decent timeline of events leading to where we are ( we now know that hamas wasn't involved in the kidnapping, Israeli officials say "probably splinter group"... yeah right)
http://www.mintpressnews.com/the…or say Israel has the right to defend itself then you may accept the same from palestinian who have settler steal their land on daily basis, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isr…
but, but, muh muh 'terrist!!!!
http://mondoweiss.net/2014/07/ro…Iron dome, for a system that has around 5% of accuracy,
it's quite weird it shoots down so well the rockets, maybe it's just creating them
http://www.reuters.com/article/2…http://www.npr.org/2014/07/09/33…
POSTOL: We can tell, for sure, from video images and even photographs that the Iron Dome system is not working very well at all. It - my guess is maybe 5 percent of the time - could be even lower.and so on and so on, at this point if we're still rehashing the same talking point when we have google at our fingertip, I don't know what to say,
when will you realize that no matter what side you're on, Israel just went fuckn over board, how can a kill ratio like this could be called a war, this is massacre, pure and simple, it's like shooting a shotgun in a barrel full of fish
- lowimpakt0
oh he horrible irony of this subheadline
"White House issues unusually strong rebuke after 16 deaths
But Pentagon confirms that US resupplied Israel with ammunition"
- detritus0
“they also must have a good memory of israeli shredded children from the 2nd intifada suicide attacks. their own carnage, 700 dead civilians. that's like 40,000 in US population”.
Interesting you decide to put it this way.
By the same metric, with the Gaza bodycount standing at ~1,200, that's the equivalent of 207,468 'American' deaths.
