I've been working on a project for a week without actually taking the time to google it, because it was meant to be only for myself,
now that I've finished the prototype, I decided to upgrade it with a web interface and did a quick google search. I found out someone in Australia came out with the same Idea but a very different way to do it,
is it considered a copy even though I didn't know the idea existed until 2 hours ago?

even musicians who claim to have no heard songs end up having to put the original song writer's names in the credits and fork over royalties.
but sounds like you're doing the same thing, in a different way? might be market confusion, but isn't that the difference between bing & google?

There's always room for competition, even if they ARE done the same way.

Vague description.

Ideas are reverse engineered alot, patents approved. Best way to know would be have a patent attorney have a look.
Not saying you did the former btw =D

The Aussies probably nicked it from somewhere else anyway. Yeah!

Shoot over a mail that way, instead of consulting us who've nothing to do with it? :)

morning everyone, I wrote it here because it was pretty safe and needed advice from someone that may have ran into the same situation,
I think it's a bad idea to write email to people I don't know who already have a similar thing going and tell them about what I'm doing :)
