anybody do this?
it seems like you're just taking a bunch of fruits and veggies that would taste awful together and putting them together, then taking all the fiber out of it to get a kind of veggie swill that i'd probably have to wince at to get down.
am i wrong? i run into a lot of people who swear by it... do you have a favorite machine, recipe or regimen? get any results of any sort?
I think the good juicers actually make the fibrous part edible. I heard only good things about juicing, but I haven't partaken.
I juice all the time. Usually carrots juice and or green juice is my thing. Every now and then I mix it up. Cantaloupe and pears and wonderful to add. I've juiced beets, kale, broccoli, celery, guava. The Power Juicer is a great way to go. Everything that comes out of that machine is good and healthy for you.
Best way to get fruit and veg, you doggy lose any fiber. I have one or two a day.
Coconut milk, cocao, honey, cinnamon, mixed with any concoction of fruit and veg goes down wonderfully.
I like an Apple, carrot and beetroot in the morning. Maybe a spinach, banana, ginger, cocao and honey in the evening
Nah, juicing is fine. I think you're probably referring to things like kale and spinach etc combined with fruits. I was fairly skeptical about this until you taste it and realise that the acidity of the fruits cuts through the massive vegetable components, and if you blend it right with well balanced earthy, sweet and tart combinations, it can really be awesome. Chuck all sorts of healthy shit it there - chia, hemp, b12 mixes. Fills you right up and gives you a good burst of (albeit fruit fructose based) zing.
People wince at the idea of a spinach smoothie but it blends down to a really creamy substance and mixed with banana or honey, it both, tastes really good
We used to juice. It's messy and unless you have your recipes down it tastes like crap. Plus, it takes a ton of fruits and veggies (veggie especially) to make a glass.
We recently switched over to a Vitamix Blender. It's way better. We'll make protein smoothies and they're so much better than the juice we were getting. They also have a ton of easy recipes to follow. I'll normally mix in plain oatmeal for a few good carbs.
We got the pro series 500. It's loud as fuck but man can it make a smoothie.
I did it a lot when I was freelancing from home but I know I hardly have time for prepare juice and clean everything. It's really a chore but now I realize I just sound lazy.
yeah i think it's the green juices that make me nervous, they just sound bitter and gross. good to hear the fruits and other things can cut that. i just keep ending up with stuff in my CSA box that i don't use– cucumbers, some greens, cider apples, tangerines, etc i suspect might be better used in a juice...
figured i'd maybe give it a go
I heard you should throw in KALE, it's super good for you.
I just use a cheapo blender for mine. Kale, banana, blue berries, cucumber and avacado. Tastes surprisingly good. The trick is to make sure you blend up the kale thoroughly so the texture is consistent.
