Done a little search around; the Qoob says Adobe Digital Publishing Suite is good but expensive.

I have a client - they are a well established print magazine.

We want to sell digital copies. Where to start? Less commissions, more readership, how to get it out there and on all devices with 1 purchase, how to make a DRM PDF? Do people even pirate magazines?

Any insights, research, findings are welcome. Really don't know where to start.

100k Facebook likes / potential readership - currently only printing 5,000 copies worldwide and selling out.

i worked at what was a large scale digital magazine distributor for awhile. all i can say is that the entire format is dying.

to be at the forefront of long form journalism in the digital era, abandon PDFs and put resources into developing a stable online environment that can exist behind a paywall.

i still love and support print and the layout thereof, but for anything other than those invested without profit in mind or at a large scale process, a new and original way to go about digital distribution will make more ends meet in the long run.

and yes, pirated magazines are a huge deal. we dealt with russian hackers all the time.
