children book designers?

do you know ANYONE with kids under 10? they likely have a stash of kids books that you could simply borrow i'm betting.
get'em, get drunk alone, read'em, take notes, pass out.

Yes, i've looked at a cap load of children books on amazon through their "Look Inside." I just wanted an advice from a person who's done it already.

^ what I did too.
I designed a line of fisher-price books last year. all newborn to toddler range. mine were all board books, though, so not all that relevant to what you're looking for.

this is not the answer u want but what i would do. head to chapters or barnes noble or fox books and just check out all the newest kids books. bring a ruler to make notes and a phone to snap pics. when security starts peep'n & creep'n GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE YO!!!

Any children book designer here i could ask a few questions?
Specifically, is there a standard size for books for 5 year olds, specific font size, some guidelines not to beyond certain amount of pages etc?
