VLC and Joomla

Need some help....
Friend has a joomla site and trying to put a current live stream up thats supported with VLC player. What are his options to put that on the site? Google has been no help.

Is there some file that you download to initiate the live stream?
Or a piece of code generate from VLC?
have to start with those 2 questions...

do you want to watch the stream with vlc player or do you want to use vlc server to provide the stream?

nope no file to download he actually already has a rtsp link thats live as I can watch it through VLC right now.

I believe you do have to watch with VLC as I have tried with others and it comes up error

There's a JW Player extension for Joomla that can handle VLC streams, I believe... you'll have to look it up to be sure.

I did look at that JW player it was very confusing to say the least... might take a second look. I tried those other two up above but joomla broke almost every instance of the code. Have I mentioned how much I hate joomla.
