How a Web Design Company Crowdfunded Millions and Completely Disappeared
The Grid suddenly locked customers out of their websites and went silent for a year. Now, the CEO says he was naive. "I can imagine there's a few people who are pissed off."

God - what were they thinking with this?
The demo looked amazing and I almost felt no bitterness for the potential impact it could have on my business as it seemed like such a great idea.
Not too mention the technology that may have been behind it.
But then - the rot set in - a failed launch, no real proof of concept etc. and all done under the glaring eyes of the net - the same audience they had shouted at with their 'brilliant' idea.
I have little sympathy - regardless of the failed technology/platform it is a lesson in how not to handle PR/marketing online.
You will get your ass bitten promising the world and delivering little.
I do hope to be proven wrong though as the concept is still brilliant - a website that adapts to content / aims at a particular time...- banged that out on my phone rushed... apologies for poor writing.fadein11

I remember they were raising money on their site to be an early adopter...I wonder how much money they raised.

Just found this link on DesignerNews:

Lots of comments about how it's a complete failure.

I was really looking forward to seeing this technology in action.

Oh dear... talk about not managing expectations from the start. They look like idiots now.
It all seemed to good to be true.
Shame.
