his ego aside, sounds like most of you don't like him because he's not a politician and because he was/is a celebrity. and you're happy with the current political environment.

I personally hate the way the Huffington Post take something and completely spin it to build hatred. They're almost like a new breed of Daily Mail with their sit-on-the-fence spin tactics.

At what point did he say "yeah, 9/11 was a cover up" he was just point out the fact who knows. Question everything. Be open to new ideas. Educate yourself.
- New media becoming 'trusted' media...babaganush
- ...the fact that their was a clear relationship between the Bushes and the Bin Laden's would render itbabaganush
- ridiculous to rule out totally an openess to conspiracy...ffs the country dined out for half a decade on JFK conspiracies...then backtrackedbabaganush
- ...conspiracies...th... back tracked! after many deaths.babaganush

He raises some relevant issues and isn't completely ignorant - fair enough. That said, millions of other people are thinking and talking about similar things. I'm sure there are many other people with greater understanding that would appreciate a fraction of the airtime that he gets.
The fact that he gets so much of it isn't, as he seems to think, because he's the only person capable of expressing these truths. It's because he's loud and famous and has a back-story and dresses and speaks like a strange Dickensian sex pest.
If there's a choice, Media will go with the strange Dickensian sex pest every time.
- also, see Farage. Lazy media construct, now out of control.Fax_Benson
- How are Farage and Brand similar? Farage is actually far more sinister and close to real powerbabaganush
- The middleaged media assumes that young people will listen to Brand because they are brain dead and he is a starbabaganush
- The fact is major parties never listened to the people and they are voting for Farage...oblivious to the fact that it happened in Nazi Germany only 70- years agobabaganush
- Nazi Germany only 70 years agobabaganush
- He's not naive enough to think he's not getting attention because he's famous, that's part of it. He's at least doing something he cares about.formed
- he's far more sinister and close to real power largely because the media made him the go-to voice for a particular debateFax_Benson
- "brain-dead and he's a star" - Ukip voters and FarageFax_Benson
- They made him a character of ridicule as opposed to a go-to voice of wisdom...they didn't think he woul d get anywhere near where he isbabaganush
- near where is is...and he is going further...babaganush
- But to be fair from a media standpoint I see your point. Although i think the motives and tactics don't bear comparisonbabaganush
- why would the media give airtime to someone who wasn't as flamboyant as he is?doesnotexist

I heard him on Stern the other day and he wasn't running the show like he is in the first video, but that could be because Stern was asking him about Katy Perry's tits.
I think the biggest thing is that he continually outmatches his interviewers with his frenetic energy. As others have said, he makes valid points. Meh.

I like him. I used to detest him from Big Brother days.
I think, regardless of what he says in interviews about starting a revolution, that he is really just trying to point out what he views as wrong and highlight the issues by posing a more sensational counterargument.
He's a man disillusioned with governments/media and I feel rightly so. He's not a man with ideas to change anything but he's intentionally being a muse to try and get others, particularly "the next generation" to questions things more and be vocal in discontent.
If you remove his proposals for things and focus on what he's aiming them at, it's quite hard to disagree with him, at least for me.
- Agree. Not many people in position of fame and influence that talk about anything worthwhileset

I think this woman has a good handle on him:
- She's a moron. "a man who truly knows what he is talking about does not start blathering on about 9/11 conspiracy theories"set
- Even if you don't believe the conspiracy that's still an utterly closed minded and moronic statementset
- conspiracy just means that 2 or more people planing and acting to do something. obviously that had to happened to cause the event.yurimon

The media's need to tear him down, after building him up a year or so ago is kind of amusing. He's just another person out there offering commentary on his YouTube channel, either listen or don't.
- indian_pole0
the people that are slamming him aren't really putting forward any arguments on what exactly they disagree with him on, and why. other than superficial crap like how he looks and talks.
- yurimon said Brand is a puppet of the elite, secret Fabian society that subverts society to its ultimate goalsmonospaced

I disagree with what he appears to be saying and here are my arguments for why:
Firstly I say ‘appears to be saying’ because he dodges any direct questions and returns to vague and rather flowery concepts. From what I can gather he is saying that 'we' (because he speaks for most people apparently) don't want a government any more, we don't want people at the top of society running the country. We shouldn’t vote because ‘we’ don’t want to be a part of the system.
Balls to that. I agree that the current political and economical systems are massively flawed, but that doesn't mean I don't want any politicians and no form of capitalism.
I want a rethink to the current system and heavier regulation for the corporations and banks. I want an end to first past the post politics because that is where (in the UK certainly) the problems stem. It has bred a culture of politics that is all together too targeted on a small amount of seats and the MPs in the house do not truly represent the numbers of votes across the country. I'll nail my colours to the mast - something which Brand does not do - and say my vote would be for Proportional Representation with an overhaul of the House of Lords - no more un-elected people should have any say in the country.
I definitely don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water though - I like the fact that you are rewarded for effort and ambition in a capitalist society. More regulation at the top so massive corporations and the super rich can't dodge tax and responsibility while those of us that work hard can have a decent life. I still want a strong welfare state so everyone has on opportunity to do something with their lives, I’m no Tory who just think those at the bottom are scum.
So there you go, it’s not the florid affected speech pattern or his cerazzeee outfits and spirituality that get’s on my tits; it’s his lack of substance and the amount of apologists who are saying it’s not about giving alternatives, it’s just about starting the conversation. When you're bandying around phrases like Revolution and telling people to opt out of the system, you better have some ideas to say what comes next.

I don't understand the people who are like "So what? he's just saying what many of us think"
Why is that a bad thing? lol, surely MORE people should be saying what we think to help make change. At the end of the day he don't need to do this, he has his money. But he actually gives at shit about people other than himself.
I like the bloke and think I'd rather a world with him in it than without.
Also, if I didn't like him, I just wouldn't watch his videos really.....quite a simple solution when you think about it.
- indian_pole0
I think his main idea is pretty simple - if you feel unrepresented, don’t put your trust in the concentrated powers, find people in the same situation, organise yourselves on a local level, take some power back. it works, i’ve seen it, here are some examples...
@wolfboy - not sure if you’ve listened to many of his broadcastsor you are just commenting on an interview or two (there’s thousands - admittedly he’s annoyingly repetitive, and often a self-confessed hypocrite) - but it actually sounds like you agree with alot of what Brand is banging on about.
the questions he dodges (e.g. 9/11 and john lewis) are the kind of questions that are intended to sideline the overarching idea he's interested in and - ahem- brand him in the media as a loony conspiracist etc...
