So, Jeremy Clarkson got fired after attacking a co-worker.
I am a huge TopGear fan and I have always been a "car guy". I like Jeremy and his humor. I have nothing but contempt for all the ripped shows who try to copy their humor, their photography art and their storytelling. It's great.
But I am glad that he is fired, actually and here is why: The automotive industry is changing fast, faster than ever. Carsharing, Hybrids, Electrics, Downsizing is what the new generation of cars will be based on, self-driving cars will be part of our lives very soon. I also think that in 5-10 years we actually want a computer to drive, just because it will be safer and more efficient for everyone of us.
He hated all this. He decided to stay being the grey-haired old man he is, ranting constantly on Hybrids and the Prius. Everytime there was a new concept that involved sharing, public transportation and just smaller cars he used all his power of meaning, making car fans hate it too.
In the past years he has harmed the auto industry as a whole by not updating his mind towards new progress, imho. Instead he compared the Prius and other comparable cars to DIESEL engines, making a lot of people think that hybrids are a fake. Clarksoooooon!
I wish him all the best finding a new place to work and that he re-thinks his 1995 views on cars.
Oh and of course, if you have to apologize for your work to an Ambassador of a country you insulted, and give out multiple other apologies because you talk shit, then punch a coworker in the face, you get fired.

All THAT aside...he hit his producer. That shot can't be tolerated.

Hes an overgrown public schoolboy with a typical Boy's Club Journalist 'humour'. I worked in newspapers years ago, and they're very much 'a sort' — middle class kids getting their kicks being oh-so naughty!
I've negative sympathy for the tired old prick — he's earned his millions, perhaps now he'll fuck off quietly in to the dark.
He won't.

Also, whilst we're here, can Stephen Fry actually, ultimately, absolutely just Fuck Off the internet, once and for all?
He's like that socially-starved kid who has poor communicative skills and has to audibly draw attention to himself every time the light's cast off, even just a smidge.
You're everywhere already. Enough, thanks.

- You must love watching QI when Clarkson is Fry's guest! :DContinuity
- I actually don't mind Steven Fry so much, in context. He's just a total plum whenever he has anything to do with the internet.detritus

Another brave man's career ruined by the cultural Marxist, social justice warrior statists at the BBC.
