I went there 2 weeks ago and thought it was great. It's all art from all the performances of the security as you enter to the end. I thought the Damien Hirsts were some of the weaker pieces of the whole thing. Here are some pictures from that trip:

Brilliant
- Have you been?fadein11
- Did you eat paint chips as a kid? There's more than enough imagery, videos, and commentary to get a great sense for the work.kona
- I've never been to Ireland but I know it's incredibly beautiful from the same bits of info above.kona
- Cool. Was just asking if you'd been.fadein11
- I don't believe you were judging by your comments throughout the thread.kona

Everything that is produced by Banksy makes it on here: a tiny design forum. Imagine the amount of talk that goes on at the other billion forums and media outlets?
Doesn't matter if you love or hate Banksy. It's definitely art.

It might not be apparent to some of his overseas fans but having grown up in one, the decline of UK seaside towns is surely part of Banksy's schtick with this one.
I knew that would sound patronising.
- thanks for the insight.docpoz
- most UK seaside towns are booming at the moment - the good ones. Weston has always been a dump.fadein11
- ^we agree on something!hans_glib
- which is why dismaland is so perfect for it.hans_glib
- have to say it is perfect for it. its growing on me slightly - just don't rate his work. as a concept I quite like.fadein11

To be fair, it's good that we have some populist art. Stuff like Banksy is easy to "get" and fun, and that helps bring more people into the art world. A person might start with Banksy, and gradually find themselves being more interested in 'better' art.
Great art is often unaccessible to the masses, both in where it is exhibited and how it is explained to them. Banksy addresses this by putting his work on the streets and making it simple enough for everyone to understand.
- there's always been populist art - the impressionists were populist after the initial shock - still seen as important.fadein11
- So Banksy's mission is the dumbing down of art for the appreciation of the masses? I seriously doubt he sees it like that.fadein11
- "fun" and stupid are often closely linked, Particularly in this case.
Alas stupid is never a positive.fadein11 - Are you suggesting that he shouldn't make it, because it's too stupid for you? I'm not sure I understand your argument.nb
- this just reads like passive aggressive hate to meMiguex
- Nope not at all. He just bugs me. Hypocrite mainstream artist litefadein11

It's crazy to see how many reactions this guy gets, you have the people that love it, the ones that hate it and then, the passive aggressive crowd on their high horse, talking about how good it was before he was "known" but now, no matter what he does, it won't be cool because "everyone" knows about him and that pisses them off.
In the and, good art is about getting a reaction from people, negative or positive, so in some sense, those that hate on his work have equal interest / reaction to those who love it.
- a fine point. i don't get how the pic relates though?sarahfailin
- I googled: "Passive Aggressive" and that photo came up hahahaMiguex
- Of course. Stp stressing about other peoples opinions if you like it. Enjoy it. Who cares what people think.fadein11
