'Amusingly' it's a lot of the expat / emigrant Turks who vote for the fucker, presumably because it doesn't impact them too much beyond peripheral benefits (eg. their Euros convert to a lot more Lire when they go back, etc).
The UK is one of the few countries where the majority of 'Turks'* voted for the opposition...

That said, and I hate to say this, but I agree with your 'supermarket queue' comment - I do find a lot of the Turks here in London Really Fucking Rude. I don't remember them being like this a few years back. Wondering whether they're like the UK ex-pat communities in places like Spain, where they now have such a number that they think that don't need to adhere to local customs and norms, so become utterly contemptible.
* I put this in single quotes because I suspect a lot of the Turks here in the UK are more Kurdish.

- Turks/Kurds same same but different.Beeswax
- I think there's a difference between migrants and expats. Rude ones are migrants who formed their closed society a while ago and dont give a fuck.Beeswax
- Also the ones in USA are very different than the ones in Europe & UK. USA>UK>Europe in terms of migrant quality/adaptibility...Beeswax

The truth is Turks don't deserve anyone better than Erdogan.
People who oppose him are as bad as his followers.
A rotten culture. I haven't seen worst in my 45 years on this rock. This is a country where I fight with people almost everyday waiting in supermarket line because they don't give a fuck if you were waiting there before them.
And they want to be ruled by a fair leader? This is not a reaction to the results, I secretly wanted him to stay even though i voted for others, I let go of my emotional ties a long time ago.

- They'll sabre rattle against Greece, threaten to pull out of NATO and support Russia, open the immigrant floodgates to Europe...the usual tricks to get $$$_niko
- oh and pretend to fight terrorism inside and outside their borders. I guess all this only helps the cronies at the top and not actual Turks._niko
- But I guess it's all good, I imagine there are thousands and thousands of cranes in the sky building and reinforcing buildings to prevent another disaster..._niko

The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo on 28th June 1914, it triggered a chain of events that resulted in World War 1. After the assassination, Austria-Hungary threatened war on Serbia.

Turkey could join bloc with Russia and China instead of EU, President Erdogan says
Mr Erdogan said he had already discussed the idea with Russian President Vladimir Putin- Makes sense, I suppose. The EU doesn't want Turkey as a member.

State of emergency -What can we EXPECT?
(Based on Article 120 of the Turkish constitution)
Sorry guys this is the best translation I could find
(SOURCE :REDDIT)
1) Limits on the time people can spend outside, curfews
2) Limits on where and when people can gather and how many
3) Searching persons and their vehicles and houses without a warrant and the ability to take anything as evidence
4) It will be mandatory to carry ID papers on you all the time if you are visiting an area that's not your home town
5) ANY printing press may be banned or will require approval
6) Any voiced broadcast whether it be radio, TV or film will depend on approval
7) Inspection of all theater plays, depending on approval
8) Rending persons whom may be thought to be harmful for public peace unable to enter or leave certain areas, or settle down
9) Banning or making all public demonstrations in open or closed spaces depend on approval
10) Delaying the firing of workers for 3 months
11) The ability to halt all activities of any foundation on a case by case basis for 3 months- sounds like funsureshot

- ^^ sted, this is from their 'emergency' status as a result of the coup attemptGnash
- Aye, someone here should possibly consider removing some of their details from public view - or at least replacing them with Benfal's.detritus
- This is really terrible and will serve as a modern day example of the Islamization of a secular nation. Europe be aware and be warned.IRNlun6
- France is in a State of Emergency at the moment. They just extended it for another 3 months.Beeswax
- Yes they did, and it's not coupled with purging government officials, military, educators, and suspension of European convention on human rights.IRNlun6

Some update:
- Pro-gov and anti-coup people go out every night with their cars and flags and honk until 3am. Pretty annoying. But Erdogan calls them out on the street with SMS messages.
- The main opposition party, also one of the two alternatives of seculars, CHP, is organizing a democracy rally on Sunday in Istnabul Taksim square.
I wasn't sure if the AKP was going to allow that since they declared state of emergency last night.
But VERY interestingly, they actually invited people to go that rally and even made public buses free for that event. Now that is very interesting. One can not avoid thinking if it's kind of a trap.
But if it's not, it's a very good sign for normalisation and unity in the country.
I'm not sure if I'll go, my mom and my wife will freak out if I go since there might be a threat from ISIS, PKK or even AKP supporters. We'll see...

4 years ago in Amsterdam, I was biking home from my work when I saw a couple writing stuff in the walls and road with Edding markers and chalk.
I stopped because they looked fun and we started to talk...
They were writing "Fuck Erdogan" and "Stop Erdogan" everywhere because people needed to know how bad he was.
So we talked a bit about Turkish politics.
They were a bit drunk and they were funny but they knew what they were talking about and they were really serious about it.
I hope they're well.

Turkey coup: Purge widens to education sector
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-eu…
"More than 15,000 education staff in Turkey have been suspended after last week's failed coup, as a purge of state officials widens still further...
More than 1,500 university deans have also been ordered to resign and the licences of 21,000 teachers working at private institutions revoked."
- Beeswax1
I don't believe Erdogan did this anymore. He may already know about it and was prepared but it wasn't him who planned.
I do think it was connected to Gulen movement and ultimately Gulen is connected to a CIA/USA/Israel centered Global Gang. But the planned coup was destined to fail.
Main organizers wanted it to fail. It was very badly planned, timing was wrong, destinations they attacked was wrong, they didn't capture even any politicians etc...The only "winner" is Erdogan. Why is Erdogan important?
Because he's about to change Turkey's constitution and switch parliamentary system to a pseudo presidential system thanks to the coup attempt.https://www.diigo.com/item/t/vX1…
This system is one of the most dangerous exports of the US to 2nd and 3rd world. Because it creates one man regimes compared to a multi-party system. Multi-party systems are harder to control by external powers. Because power is distributed and can quickly change hands or be shared in case of coalition governments. Therefore they create more independent governments.
If your country is in some part of the World that falls under this Gang's interest than they will prefer a more manageable system for your country.
It wasn't only the parliamentary system that made it harder for them to mess with internal affairs of Turkey it was also the other power holder of the country, the secular military.Since Friday more than 3000 high ranking army officers are arrested. Even if they won't be accused of anything their army career will probably be over. So no more threat from Turkish army that always acted as a Safety Valve to protect Secularism in Turkey.
But what do they gain from this? Turkey is already an ally and a Nato member with US bases and Iron Dome defense systems.

THE GREATER MIDDLE EASTERN PLAN!
The GMEP.According to this project a satellite state named KURDISTAN will be founded in Northern Iraq, Northern Syria and East of Turkey. The first two areas have already been taken under control by Kurds and minorities of these areas have been wiped out.
It may be hard to believe but ISIS is actually helping this plan a lot!
ISIS is former El-Kaide that have been used for a purpose(Iraq and Afghanistan invasions) and then weakened and transformed into ISIS. ISIS will be done when they accomplish their mission as well and we will have another peon.To make the long story short.
- The soldiers who joined the Coup is arrested and getting lifelong sentences. There's no death sentence in Turkey but media is talking about it too much lately. They might bring it back.
- Those generals are not that stupid to play a game just so Erdogan will be more powerful and they will get arrested.
- Erdogan was pretty comfortable since the beginning of the attempt. He knew about it.
- Either Gulenist or Pro-America soldiers have been fooled to start this and then left alone during the attempt.
- The Global gang doesn't invest on people, like Erdogan, but they invest on more permament systems, like a constitutional system that will f-up the future of a country. And that is the upcoming "presidential dictatorship system" in Turkey. We will see what will happen in the near future. Turkey might get divided into 2 or 3 pieces. The follower of Erdogan might be another Erdogan.
But this coup attempt was too obvious to fail and that's why it's hard to ignore and forget.- First image link
http://bit.ly/29TWLY…Beeswax - perhaps erdogan wasn't directly responsible, but he was prepared to take advantage of it, perhaps expected it to happen.sarahfailin
- Really interesting theory. Recently read a top AKP party member called for a new constitution.IRNlun6
- Interesting, so you think the coup was a false flag to create an excuse for the arrests. Makes sense..set
