Saw it in the theatre with my son and LOOOOOVED it. Picked up the Blu-Ray and watched it as a family with the wife this weekend. She was hesitant but was sucked in instantly.
And I've had this song in constant rotation for the last couple of months, so good.

Must see in theatres. I typically haaaate superhero films, but this is a real spectacle. Beautiful.

Watched this last night. As other have said, it's fucking bananas. So good. Thanks for sharing, PhanLo.

Jesus that was intense.
Wished I was on acid
Instead I stupidly went with a mild headache instead.
Not a good idea.Fucking amazing tho.

Pango, here's a vid about the production, it says there were 177 animators on the project at one point, more than double for a usual animation.
Alberto Mielgo also worked with a team for a year to create 1 minute of test footage, but fell out with Sony, it's a shame he couldn't have worked on it til the end, even though his fingerprints are all over the final movie.
You can see some of his early concepts here https://www.instagram.com/albert…

Wonder who did the animation.

Finally got to see it tonight with an old mate. Some of the scenes were so nuts with the style changes, loved the Bill Sienkiewicz nods and the size of the Kingpin.
Visually it was a feast for the eyeballs, I hope it leads to more experimentation.
End titles were bonus too.

Hope they have a How-it-was-made on the Blu Ray

Took my 3 and 7-year-old to see it. It was pretty intense for young kids. They both jumped out of their seats a few times.
The animation was amazing but the storyline was was hard to follow and Spider Pig, AKA Peter Porker, was funny but seemed way out of place.

Saw it yesterday with the kids - expected yet another shitty superhero movie (which Im so fucking bored of) all be it animated this time - but agree with previous comments - was blown away by its visual style and direction, was one of the best eye candy experiences in a long time and nice to see something different for once.

Great film.
My boys loved it.
Absolutely loved/blown away that they referenced Bill Sienkiewicz's Kingpin ... to finally see his artwork/style on the big screen ... fuck yes.
- prophetone3
Went yesterday, perfectly crafted, funny, dramatic, great music esp use of Apache. Visual stunner. A+

This was a trip. 10/10.
- breadlegz1
Enjoyed every single second of it.

Need to check it in the cinema now. Sounds exciting!

I’d agree with all comments. Really brilliantly done, tremendous visuals. The end credits are worth the price of admission in themselves. I sat opened mouthed wondering at the imagination required to create those visuals. The story is a bit blah, but also very self deprecating and in the end it really doesn’t matter, the overall film just blew me away

I read that it took them one year to come up with a 10 second look that they liked, then they ran with it. Started with one animator, then ballooned to 60 then finally 140 animators!
Just loved the maticulous work, craft and bold experimentation that went into it, it’s refreshing these days where most movies look like they’re just dialing it in.
