Fontsmith web font

  Has anyone purchased a fontsmith web font license, cant get my head round it, they have a perpetual and annual license, its self hosted so do they track views, in fact do they track anything?

  They sell 2 types of licenses for web fonts; hosted (from a different server), and self-hosted (you deal with the hosting.

  Self-host, you pay a one-time fee and that’s it. With Hosted, you pay an annual subscription fee

  • Although, even with the perpetual license you have to guesstimate the views to determine the onetime feeGnash
  • I don’t think they track it when self-hosted. It’s unlike buying a licensed image - you tell them how many units you're printing, etc, to determine priceGnash
